The musical mercenaries of AVILA SOUL, an alt-classical super group co-founded by composer Kyle Baker and violinist Melanie Joy Alvey.

The quintet were all trained by master teacher Tracy Silverman and are proud to expand the work of Turtle Island String Quartet further into the post-minimalist beat driven 21st Century.

Expect virtuosic grooves, throwback R&B standards by Bill Withers (and others); and fresh compositions by Baker, Alvey, and members of the quintet. Delivered with the authenticity and heart of an American soul band.
